Joseph Lloyd Neely

October 9, 1955 — August 23, 2021

Hemet, California

Joseph Lloyd Neely, 65, born October 9, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, son of the late Lloyd F. Neely and Laverne F. Neely Davis, has passed away peacefully at his home in Hemet, California on August 23, 2021.

Joseph was a graduate of Purdue University and had previously been employed by Hughes Aircraft. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was a generous man, almost to a fault, who would give all he had to help someone in need. This kindness spilled over to the animal community as he lovingly rescued several dogs throughout the years. He was devoted to his fur family and was always looking out for any animal that needed some help.

Joseph was a creative thinker who excelled at thinking out of the box. He used this creativity and his networking skills to overcome the hurdles that life threw his way.

He is survived by his five siblings, Mary Ann Davis (Charles), John (Jean), Daniel (Rachel), all from Indianapolis and David (Sandra) and Suzanne Schiffmacher (Roy), both from Pennsylvania. He also left behind ten nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews along with his faithful dog Brutus.

He was well liked among his community and will be dearly missed, but he will live on in our hearts and memories.

He will be laid to rest beside his parents on Saturday, October 9 at 11 AM in Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The family suggests that any memorial donations be made to your local animal rescue or No-Kill shelter in Joseph’s name.
