Joseph "Joe" F. Bach

April 17, 1979 — June 9, 2024

Joe passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 9th with a beautiful smile on his face. Nearly one year ago, Joe was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer and fought until the very end when God called him home to ease away all of his pain. Joe was born April 17, 1979 in Greenwood, South Carolina to Eugen (Buddy) Bach and Virginia (Jenny) Bach. He graduated from Winthrop College in 2003 and he moved to Memphis shortly thereafter.  He was an avid runner and soccer player.  Joe always had a smile on his face and had a love for food and cooking like no one else. Joe could whip up a delicious meal in no time even if there were little to no ingredients in the house. Joe met the love of his life, Colleen in Memphis. In 2013, Joe and Colleen moved to Fishers, Indiana and married in 2014. Joe and Colleen have two young children Emma(6) and Dylan(5). Joe was an amazing father. He enjoyed spending time with the kids, watching them play sports, traveling, and taking them to the farmers markets. He continued attending the kid's school events all the way until the end including a daddy/daughter dance in April and pre-k and kindergarten graduation in May. He was the rock of his family. Joe was also the life of the party and was seen as the cool/favorite uncle by all his nieces and nephew. Joe loved his family and would move heaven and earth for them. Joe was also an amazing friend and had a special core group of friends who supported him throughout his cancer journey reminding him that he was never alone. We have a huge hole in our hearts without him, but know he is smiling down on us from heaven. Joe is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his uncles Mark Hoyt, Wesley Bach, and David Bach and niece, Isabella Bobay. Joe is survived by his wife of almost 10 years, Colleen (Nietch), daughter Emma and son Dylan. Along with his parents, he is also survived by his brother Gray Bach (Andrea), sister Beth Jackson (Reggie), niece Mackenzie, and brother Jon Bach (Cory) niece Chloe. His in-laws, Craig and Patti Nietch and sister in law Laura (Nietch) Bobay (Jason), nephew Tommy, nieces Tori, Vivi, and Finley.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emma and/or Dylans college funds by clicking here.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1:30PM-3PM at St. Simon Catholic Church in Indianapolis. A funeral mass will begin at 3PM. Following cremation, Joe will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
