Joseph Julian Reynolds passed away on March 17, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born September 1, 1929 to Arch Reynolds and Elizabeth Brewington and was rasied in Indianapolis.
Joe had an adventurous spirit starting at an early age when he was a child and jumped off the roof of the garage with an umbrella. Little did he know that that would lead him to one day flying in a hot air balloon with his daughter. This stimulated his adventurous spirit even more to take him to the next level and learning how to fly gliders. He became a glider pilot and joined the Indiana Soaring Society. With his love and passion of flying gliders he then earned his license to teach others how to soar.
Joe graduated from Tech High School and then went to Butler University where he met his soon to be wife at a sorority gathering. He graduated in 1953 earning a degree in Pharmacy. He was one of Community Hospital's pioneers and remained there for 30 years. He became an administrator for several years and decided he wanted to go back to being a pharmacist. He then went to work at Methodist Hospital until he retired. During this time he was a life member of the Sertoma Club of East Indianapolis and the American Legion.
Joe was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughter Tracy O'Connor ( Tom), sister Emma Lou Nicholls, nieces, Sandy, Susan, Karen, Katie and nephew Scott.
