Joseph C. (Joe) Harding went hometo Heaven on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 74. He fought lung cancerbut lung cancer did not win, love did. Joe was born on November 5, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late Harold andJeannette Harding. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School and earned aMasters Degree from Indiana State University. He taught Automotive classes atNorth Central High School and J. Everett Light Career Center. He spent over 30years as a Service Manager or Service Director at several dealerships in thearea. After retirement, he was a partner in Sticks & Stones Ministries,joyfully ministering by meeting needs through construction. Joe raised hisfamily at Northside Baptist Church. While there he served as a deacon, taught SundaySchool, Bible studies, and loved working with youth. He had a heart for thecommunity and demonstrated that through a bus ministry and neighborhood coffeehouse called the “Rap House.” In recent years Joe worshiped at Leavener. He leda weekly small group Bible study for many years. Joe is survived by his wife,Martha (Marty) and his four daughters: Lisa Reed, Jennifer Baker, Julie Taylor(Kent), and Kathryn Harding. He is also survived by two brothers, Ken (Sue)Harding and Paul (Norma) Harding, twelve grandchildren, threegreat-grandchildren, and countless friends who became his family. He waspreceded in death by his brother Jim Harding.
