Joseph Garrett Lungren, Sr., 81, was born December 28, 1933 and passed away December 01, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of William Hemphill and Ella Lungren.
Joe served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Northrop Institute of Technology. The majority of his career was spent in the Aeronautical business as a System Safety Engineering Manager for The Northrop Grumman Corporation wherein he was involved with the B-2, a stealth bomber program.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Esther Lungren; Children: Joseph G. Lungren, Jr, Michael S. Lungren, Theresa Johnston and Margaret Barrow; Stepchildren: Joseph A. Huntington (Kelly Anne), Kelly Jo Huntington-Eveleth (John), Steven P. Huntington (Jenny), Lucy H. Neely (Dan): and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William and his stepsons, Michael Edward Huntington and Robert Charles Huntington.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 11445 Fishers Pointe Blvd., Fishers, IN, 46038. On Monday, December 7, 2015. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am.
