Joseph Edward Holmes

Joseph Edward Holmes 90, Indianapolis, passed away October 1, 2012. After serving in the US Navy, he married Elizabeth Ann Ginney, and they were blessed with one daughter, Kathleen, who survives. He was born and lived his entire life in Indianapolis. He attended Sacred Heart grade school and graduated from Cathedral High School. He retired as President of the Fred A. Beck Company in 1986. He was twice awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash. He served on the board of directors of the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Plainfield since 1976. Joe enjoyed volunteering at Eagle Creek Park at the Earth Discovery Center and was an avid aviation enthusiast. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8pm at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 E County Road 750 N Brownsburg, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North.
