Josefina Crispina Jones, born April 27, 1935, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Texas. A woman of remarkable accomplishment and unwavering character, Josie’s life was a testament to dedication, resilience, and boundless love.

Josie was an accomplished woman beyond belief—she could computer program, trained in nursing, and found success in all areas she explored. Her intellectual curiosity and determination led her to earn a degree in nursing and to successfully pass her U.S. naturalization test.

Her family and friends remember Josie as someone with a truly beautiful soul who loved deeply. She was independent and authentic, marching to her own beat until the very end. Josie set an inspiring example for those around her, always encouraging others to be their best selves. Her unwavering commitment and undying love for her husband were evident to anyone who witnessed their relationship; together, they were a living testament to the existence of true love.

As a mother, Josie instilled in her stepchildren the values of hard work, responsibility, and the importance of strong family bonds. She cherished her time with her family and her friends.

Josie’s love of cooking was a cherished part of her life, and she lovingly imparted this skill to many family members, sharing not only recipes but the joy of nurturing others through food.

Josie is survived by her stepchildren, Ernie Jones, Wayne Jones, Angela Marker and Gary Jones; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family members and cherished friends. 

A Celebration of Life honoring Josie will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), located at 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 

A Reception will follow the conclusion of her burial, back inside the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
