Josef O. Bischof, 81 of Noblesville, IN passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024. Josef was born December 25, 1942 in St. Gallen, Switzerland to the late Oskar and Martina Bischof. He received his BS degree from Reutlingen University, Germany.
Joe worked for Ciba-Geigy (that became Novartis) as a textile engineer (1967-2003), then as a consultant at F. Hirst until his retirement in 2007.
He was an avid tennis player until his knees no longer permitted this sport. Then he became an enthusiastic golf player. Joe started dabbling with model trains (Maerklin) in late 1970’s / early 1980s. His collection, along with train table grew to the point of requiring an entire room.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 12 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, where family will receive visitors following the service until 2:00 pm.
Josef is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Daniela (husband, Gotz) von Bulow; son, Christian (wife, Roxanne) Bischof; grandchildren, Nickolas and Stephanie von Bulow, Daniel, Savannah and Mikyla Bischof; sister, Marlit Rhyner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Humane Society.
