Jonathan J. Marcotte

Jonathan “Jay” James Marcotte, of Noblesville, IN and formerly of Marshall, MN, passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 44, following a brief illness. He was born in Marshall, MN on September 10, 1981, to parents, James “Jamie” and Elizabeth “Beth” (Pederson) Marcotte.

Jay graduated from Marshall Senior High School in 2000. He continued his education at the University of Arizona, University of Minnesota and University of New Mexico, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry in 2007. After graduating, Jay started his career as a pharmaceutical sales rep for Pfizer. He continued in the sales field, selling medical devices for Roche Diagnostics, until his position was cut in 2023. Jay was currently employed at Pebble Brook Golf Club, where he enjoyed working with the staff, members, and golfers. Pebble Brook was where he truly was in his element.

Jay married Rachel Cordova on March 27, 2010, in Albuquerque, NM. They spent 16 loving years together; they welcomed 2 sons, Jakobe and Jameis Marcotte.

Jay was truly one of a kind. He was a devoted father, loving husband, son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend whose presence made life more fun for everyone around him. His greatest pride and joy were his children, Jakobe and Jameis. Being their dad was one of the most important parts of his life, and the love he had for them was endless.

Jay was an excellent chef and relished in showing off his cooking skills to his family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, watching his boys’ activities, cheering on his Minnesota sports teams (Vikings, Timberwolves, and Gophers), or planning his next practical joke (i.e., the many Christmas cards he sent out at his sister’s expense). Jay was a quiet jokester and loved ChatGPT, and no one was safe from his humor.

Jay had a personality that was impossible to forget. He had a mischievous smile and a sense of humor that could brighten up any room. He was funny beyond belief and had a way of making people laugh no matter the situation. Jay gave everyone nicknames, and those names became part of the special connection he had with the people in his life. He had a very strong bond with his high school friends; they often affectionally referred to themselves as “Merle’s out of town gang.” Jay seemed to make friends wherever he went, including the school resource officer Jim Marshall. Jay and company would always say: “doing their best to always avoid Officer Marshall.”

The last few years of Jay’s life were not easy, as he continued to struggle with alcoholism. In the end, he found peace. One of the most important people in his life came within the last seven months. Brad Hart (who the family refers to as his savior) wasn’t just Jay’s AA sponsor; he became a close friend and mentor. Jay was also a member of the Noblesville Masonic Lodge No 57.

Jay was loved by so many and will be forever missed by all that he knew.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel, their children, Jakobe and Jameis (all of Noblesville, IN); step-son, Tyler Quitana (of Los Cabo, Mexico); his parents, Jamie and Beth Marcotte (of Marana, AZ); siblings, Ryan Marcotte (of Cumberland, RI), Briana (Justin) Schneider (of Sioux Falls, SD), step-sister, Kari Harris (of Mountain House, CA); nieces, Chloe Marcotte, Kenley and Payton Schneider; nephews Oscar, Christian and Chase Marcotte, Tate Schneider, Tyler and Thomas Harris. He was also survived by his beloved dogs, Stella and Skylar, in addition to numerous other cousins, relatives, and many many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: James and Lillian Marcotte, maternal grandparents Harold and Mary Pederson, aunt Kathy Bothun, uncle Jerry Bothun, uncle Randy Marcotte, and his beloved dog “Roxy.”

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 12, 2026, beginning with a Masonic Funeral Service at 4pm, at Flanner Buchanan Hamilton Memorial Park – Prairie Waters Event Center (4180 Westfield Rd. Westfield, IN 46062). Visitation will continue with family present until 8pm.

Another Celebration of Life with be held in Marshall, MN, next spring.
