John William McClain, 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Joseph F. and Florence (McClellan) McClain.
On September 16, 2003, in Sevierville, Tennessee, John married his love, Jeane M. (Irwin) McClain, spending a loving total of 20 years together.
John owned a successful fiberglass business for many years, and during the 80’s he built car bodies for professional NASCAR race cars. Afterwards, he worked at Westing House as a motor winder for many years before retiring.
John lived, breathed, and slept for NASCAR and the Indianapolis Speedrome, but most of all, he loved being with his family. He and his furry companion, pebbles, were absolutely inseparable.
John will be deeply missed by his loving family that include his loving wife, Jeane M. McClain; son, Rick (Vicky) McClain; granddaughter, Megan McClain; stepsons, Nathan (Jackie) Pendleton and Aaron (Andrea) Pendleton; and his loyal companion, Pebbles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence McClain; first wife of 42 years, Mildred McClain; son, Greg McClain; and daughter, Tonja Smith.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 3pm at Washington Park East Cemetery – 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.
