John Wesley Bent II

John Wesley Bent, age 77 of Fishers, IN passed away on Sunday evening August 20, 2023.

John was born on December 8^th, 1945 in Evansville, IN the son of John Wesley and Marshetta Lee (Saulman) Bent.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; daughter, Keri (Brett) Brown; grandchildren: Victoria "Tori" Brown of Fishers, IN and Austin L. Brown of Carthage, IN; and brother, Greg Bent of Ft. Branch, IN.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Broc Bent.

John was an Indiana University graduate, a Navy veteran and retired as a Captain after 32 years of service from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police department.

John loved reading, traveling to Hawaii and Florida, boating and IU athletics.

A visitation will be held on Thursday September 7^th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Flanner Buchanan  – Geist – located at 7855 Cork Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236.

A celebration of John’s life will follow at 12:00 Noon also Flanner Buchanan – Geist.
