John R. "Jack" Wagner, 87, Indianapolis, passed away February 20, 2014. He was born June 27, 1926, in Vincennes, the son of the late Charles and Clara (Kassens) Wagner. He married Edna (Hamke) Wagner in 1950.
Jack graduated from Lincoln High School and later from Vincennes University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He retired as Financial Officer from Commercial Credit Corporation. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Edna Wager; son, Todd (Cheryl) Wagner; two grandchildren, Tristin and Luke; and three sisters, Dorothy, Ann, and Kay. He was preceded in passing by a brother, Ralph and sister, Mary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at St. Pius X, 7200 Sarto Drive. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, with military honors performed by the U.S. Army. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
