John W. Jensen

John W. Jensen, 85, passed away February 18, 2012. He was born October 3, 1926 in Highland Park IL, to the late Niels and Maria Jensen. He married Noreen "Jo" Sharp on August 9, 1947. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 ½ years, Noreen "Jo" ; children, Bill (Jane) Jensen, Linda Jensen, Jim (Pam) Jensen, Carol (Bill) Megnin, Harold Jensen, Peggy Burnstein; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and sisters, Elna Keyt and Ruth Jensen. John was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Andrew Katowitz and a brother, Carl Jensen. John owned Jensen Plumbing for 20 years. He also worked as a Yellow Shirt for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for over 20 years. John was a US Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Murat Shrine Chanters, Order of the Q, Local 440 Plumber Union and Keystone Masonic Lodge #251. John enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. A funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
