John Duncan, born on January 31, 1940 in Henderson Kentucky, had passed away on December 20, 2011 while sleeping in his bed. At the age of 71, he had lived his life to the fullest. Two years ago he was diagnosed with cancer, which had spread all through out his body. He fought hard and long against this disease but couldn't overcome it.
He began his journey of success when he enrolled into the Warren Central high school. After graduating high school, he started painting for the Kendall and Singer Company, in 1960. This job usually required painting houses and buildings. In the 70's, he began building homes in the Indianapolis area. LaterJohn and his life time companion, Shirley started a business called J & S Homes. After finishing his business with his companion, John joined his son in working at Dad's Truck and Auto in 1993, until he retired to his home for the time he had cancer.
John always enjoyed fishing with his friends and family. He enjoyed traveling to new places where he had never been. John also admired cars, especially his red, 1965, corvette. He used to take his children and companion Shirley to the Indianapolis Speedrome and watch the races most Saturday nights. He also was an avid gambler, blackjack was his favorite.
John is survived by his life time companion Shirley Duncan, son Dave Duncan, daughter Diane Duncan, stepdaughter Dana McNeely, stepsons Robby Martin and Ricky Martin, grandchildren Matt, Lauren, Danielle, Dionna, Cagnie, and Levi.
