John Thomas Fortune

John Thomas Fortune, 72 of Indianapolis, IN passed away July 17, 20220. He was born February 12, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Mark Eugene and Nellie Mae (Sering) Fortune. John was a Lineman for AT&T for 53 years retiring in 2018. He proudly served his country during the Viet Nam War in the U S Marine Corps. and was a Lifetime member of the VFW. His family said he could repair most anything and always came prepared always carrying his tools. All who knew him will truly miss him. John is survived by his loving wife, Brenda K. (Pickard) Fortune, children, Jason (Kelly) Fortune, Thomasina “Cookie” (Dennis) Denny, Tamara (Todd) Norris, grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley Denny, Hannah and Isaac Krebs, Hope and Noah Norris, and brothers, James and Mark Fortune and step granddaughter, Ali Norris. Besides John’s parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and Pat Fortune and a sister, Susie Fortune. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 1 PM at Flanner Buchanan Floral Park with visitation there from 11 AM to 1 PM. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
