Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana – John L. Stewart, 87, passed away on May 24, 2024. John was born to John Lewis Stewart Sr. and Kester (Cook) Stewart, on July 3, in Indianapolis.

John joined the United States Army out of high school and served until his honorable discharge in 1962 after which he went to work at General Motors, doing metal fabrication for thirty years until his retirement in 1992. John was also an active member of the Freemasons and the Shriners.

John loved to relax by watching old western movies, listening to country music, or taking care of the yard. He was also a devoted fan of wrestling. When he was younger, he cheered for Dick the Bruiser, and up until his passing, would continue to watch with his friends and grandchildren every Monday and Friday night.

More than anything else, John loved his family, and especially his wife Rosanna who passed in 2007. Generous with his time, no project was too small or too big when it came from his friends or family.
