John Richard 'Dick' Hooten

John Richard "Dick" Hooten of Indianapolis, born May 2, 1929, passed away September 7, 2011 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Martin Hooten; children, Mark (Frieda) Hooten and Pam (DWayne) Switzer. He was the grandfather of six and great-grandfather of three. Also surviving is his brother, David M. (Janet) Hooten; and several nieces and nephews. Dick became a realtor in 1963 and is a past Chairman, Treasurer, and Director of the Eastern Multiple Listing Association. He retired in 1999. Dick was a lifelong member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Mystic Circle Lodge #685 and the Scottish Rite. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 2-3 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park East , 10722 E. Washington Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence United Methodist Church, 5200 Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46226.
