John R. Kildsig
97, of Speedway, passed peacefully at his home on July 24, 2012.
John was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Metallurgy.
While working in the steel mills in Hammond, IN he met his wife, Helen Cole. They started their married life in Speedway, IN where he was employed by Detroit Diesel Allison, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of Speedway Christian Church, American Society of Metals, Speedway Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Murat Shrine.
He is survived by his wife Helen Kildsig; daughters Barbara (Herb) Cain and Patricia (Douglas) Bebee; grandson Scott Bebee; sister Josephine Bezvoda and several nieces and nephews. The family wants to give special thanks to Skip Cole, John and Helen's nephew who lovingly assisted John in his final months.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Speedway. Services will be Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10 am at the funeral center. Entombment will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Speedway Christian Church or St. Vincent Hospice.
