John Paul

July 2, 1924 — August 15, 2012

John W. "Jeff" Paul, Jr., 88, of Carmel, formerly of Zionsville, died August 15, 2012. Jeff was born July 2, 1924 in Fairfield, Illinois to John and Lena Stoltz Paul; they preceded him in death. Mr. Paul was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Eunice Tubbs Paul on February 15, 2010. Jeff worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. for 35 years retiring in 1989 as an equipment operator. Not one to ever stay idle, he enjoyed a second career for the Zionsville Schools as a bus driver for 19 years. When not working, Jeff could be found enjoying a leisurely round of golf; a pastime that brought him much pleasure including rounds that recorded 8 holes-in-one during his playing days. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Zionsville, a member of the American Legion Post No. 79 in Zionsville, and a veteran of the United States Army who faithfully served his country during World War II. Mr. Paul is survived by his children, Jeffery J. Paul and his wife, Sherry, and Mary A. Galloway and her husband, Phil. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kimberly, Josh, Brian, and Melissa; and his great-grandchildren, Raegan and Nathaniel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, August 17, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville with a funeral service 10 am Saturday, August 18, 2012 also at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville, Rev. Mark Thacker officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Hutton Cemetery, rural Zionsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 79, PO Box 332, Zionsville, IN.
