John Edward Noone, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born in Indianapolis the son of Charles and Mary Ellen (Crowe) Noone, and was a member of the Cathedral High School Class of 1945. He enlisted in the US Army and served during WW II. He was a manager with the US Postal Service retiring in 1989 after 42 years. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, The American Legion and Moose Lodge. He loved traveling, ballroom dancing, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Margaret Ashcraft, Theresa Susemichel and Helen Freeman; and brother's Joseph and Billy.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Szewczyk) Sweeney Noone; nephews, Robert F. (Alice) and Paul (Lisa) Susemichel, Rick (Susan), Mark and Stephen Ashcraft; nieces Vicky Ashcraft, Kathleen Whittaker, Margaret Martin and Ellen Judd (James); brothers in law, Skip Freeman and Robert C. Susemichel; 7 great nephews and 4 great nieces; 1 great great nephew and 2 great great nieces; stepsons, Brian and Barry Sweeney.
Mass of Christian burial 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 1827 Kessler Blvd, E Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46220. Visitation 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220. Burial Calvary Cemetery with military rites.
