John Myron Mills, 79, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. Born on February 2, 1947, in Indianapolis, John lived a life marked by devotion—to his country, to his family, and to the many passions that filled his days with purpose and laughter.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, John carried his service with dignity and humility throughout his life. After his time in the military, he built a successful career as a salesperson, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his intelligence, wit, and unwavering drive. A graduate of Ivy Tech, John was as proud of his Irish roots as he was of his Midwest upbringing, carrying both with pride and humor that endeared him to many.
John’s life was deeply defined by family. He shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with his loving wife, Linda Mills. Together, they raised two sons, the late John Michael Mills and Jason Mills, who continue to reflect the values their father instilled—hard work, loyalty, and resilience. John found immense joy in being a grandfather to Emma Mills, whose achievements and laughter brought him boundless pride.
A lifelong Cubs fan, John never lost his enthusiasm for the game, and when not cheering from his favorite chair, he could be found on the golf course, tinkering under the hood of a classic car, or relaxing to the smooth sounds of jazz and the charm of an old Western film. John and Linda also enjoyed traveling together and sharing new experiences.
He is survived by his wife Linda; his son Jason; his granddaughter Emma; his sister Maureen Ozolins; and his brother Joe Mills. John will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous heart, and steadfast loyalty. His legacy lives on in the family and memories he cherished so deeply.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 2pm-4pm at Flanner Buchanan Hamilton Memorial Park - Prairie Waters (4180 Westfield Rd. Noblesville, IN 46060).
