Mark Ripley – John Mark Ripley was born in Seymour, IN on October 6th, 1951 to Thelma Pauline Rambo Ripley and Dr. John William Ripley, both deceased. He was a baptized member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he attended grade school. He graduated from Seymour Senior High School in 1970 and received a degree in Business from Indiana University in 1975.
In 1976, he married Holly Hill, daughter of Myra M. Lewis, Seymour, IN and Sherman E. ‘Tony’ Hill, Mountainburg, AR. He was employed by Richart’s Men Store in Seymour until 1985. Moving to Indianapolis, IN in 1985, he worked for Roadway Package System (RPS). He later was a salesman for Bremer Agency and recently for ESG Security.
Mark and Holly have two children, Elizabeth and John. Elizabeth is married to Jason Horn and they have four children, J Elijah, Job Mattias, Georgia Rose & Lila Pearl. John is married to Megan Phillips. Mark has three surviving sisters, Jane Kerkhof (husband Joe), Christina Boggs (husband Dave) and Barbara Ripley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark had several health issues in the past few years including a congenital heart defect. He died suddenly on October 4, 2010 in the home that he loved. His wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour on Saturday October 9th at 11:00 AM, followed by a celebration at the Dr. Ripley family home, 2001 Ewing St, Seymour.
