John Henry Kohlbacher

John H. Kohlbacher, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on October 7, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1942, in Fort Wayne, to the late Alfred and Lucile Kohlbacher.

John graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1960. He then followed up his education with a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in 1964. John had a love for reading and was a firm believer in lifelong learning.

John was energetic and passionate about his Catholic faith. He was devoted to supporting local Indianapolis parishes and proudly served in the Knights of Columbus as a Grand Knight, Commander, and Fourth Degree Member. John also had many hobbies to include photography, history, and watching sports. Go Colts!

John was a dependable and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was kind, generous, and able to bring laughter to those around him.

John is survived by his sisters, Mary Anne, Jeanne, and Katie; nephews, Gary, Rick, Greg, Doug, and Kris; and nieces, Laura, Julie, Erin, and Kerri.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held on October 14, 2023, from 9 am to 12 pm, with Mass to follow at 12 pm, both at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. John’s Final Resting Place will be at Divine Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
