John Joseph Bower born in Goodland, Indiana, October 31, 1954, to the late Joseph and Jeanette (Brouillette) Bower passed away after a short illness on August 25, 2022. He is survived by his wife, AynnRae (Buckley), daughter, Beth (Paul) Kane, son, Christopher Renner, grandchildren, Sam and Callie McGinnis and John and Jackie Kane, brothers, James (Judy) Bower, Jeff (Mary) Bower, sisters, Janice (Paul) Gootee, Julie Brown, Joyce (Rich) Smith, Jackie (Brent) Hofman, Jennifer (Keith) Cheraso, father in law Robert Buckley Sr, brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Shirley) Buckley Jr, JoAnne Mengel, Donald Buckley and Scott Buckley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jeanette Bower, his sister Joan (Peach) Bower, mother-in-law, Wilma Buckley, brother-in-laws, Ruskin Brown, James Buckley and David Mengel.
John will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and quirky eating habits. He was fondly known as Uncle Weirdo by his nieces and nephews and never ended a conversation without telling you to let him know if you needed anything. He worked in sales his entire career and much of his success was due to his ability to treat all with genuine respect and friendship. He was an avid golfer and was always up for a game of euchre or poker. His weekly check in calls will be missed by all.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday August 29, 2022 at Oaklawn memorial Garden 9700 Allisonville Rd Indianapolis, IN 46259. There will be visitation from 10:30 am to 11:30 am followed by a mass to celebrate John’s life on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 11:30 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church 7200 Sarto Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46240. After mass, join the family at their home to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived. “Believe Me”
