John "Jay" Gregory Lorey

John “Jay” Gregory Lorey, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 60. The youngest of four children, John was born on January 8, 1963, to John Joseph and Anna Lee (Clemans) Lorey in Jasper, Indiana. In his early years, John was a star tennis player. After graduating from Jasper High School in 1981, he received a scholarship from the University of Southern Indiana where he attended and played tennis. He later went on to study at Indiana University, Bloomington where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He had a long, successful career in technology sales and the mortgage industry. John married and had three children:  Nicholas (23), Sydney (21), and Benjamin (15), who were his pride and joy. He greatly loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time outdoors. With a great sense of humor, John was outgoing, friendly, always had a smile, and had never met a stranger. He was an avid golfer and die-hard Hoosier fan. Preceding him in death were his parents, John Joseph and Anna Lee (Clemans) Lorey. He is survived by Amy (Park) Lorey and his siblings: Beth (Luke) Habig of Indianapolis, David (Martha) Lorey of Albion, and Jane Lorey of Fishers. He is also survived by his three children, two nephews, and one niece.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19^th at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Fishers.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20^th at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, with calling one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to IU Health University Hospital and Mental Health America of Indiana.
