John James Grant

John James Grant 88, of Clermont, passed away at home on Sunday, June 17, 2012. He was born on August 9, 1923 in Derry, Northern Ireland. John was an officer in the British Merchant Navy for 11 years and worked as an engineer for Rolls Royce in Scotland. He came to the United States in 1954 and worked for Ironworkers#22, retiring in 1988. John loved his family, playing pool, carving, painting and the colts; and his wonderful life. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, Kenny ("J"), Ann Marie Bohr (Mike), John (Micky), Mike (Cindi); grandchildren, Tony and Nick Grant, Megan and Evan Bohr; and brother, Patrick (Evelyn) Grant. John was preceded in death by brother, Hugh Grant; and sisters, Lil McLeod and Mary Meyers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Speedway. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4 until 8pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Speedway. Burial will take place in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
