John "Jack" T. Clancy

John “Jack” Thomlinson Clancy, 75, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on January 9, 2026. He was born on March 6, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Col. John L. Clancy and Gertrude E. Clancy. 

As an “army brat” Jack lived all over the US, including 3 years in Japan, before settling in at Ft Ben Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He graduated with honors from Lawrence Central High School in 1968, and the from IU in 1972.

Jack spent more than 50 years as a Broker General Agent with AFLAC American Family Life Assurance Company. At one time he was the Broker Development Coordinator for AFLAC. 

Jack was known for his sense of humor, love for cats and dogs, and his care for others. 

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Martha Jo Craig Clancy; his sisters, Marilyn Clancy Soulsburg and Sara Jane Clancy; brother Tom Clancy; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hillery and Nancy (Curt) Jacobs; brother-in-law, John Craig; and assorted nieces and nephews, Greg Soulsburg, Morgan Clancy, Stacy Marie (Soulsburg), Ruby Jacobs and Connor Jacobs.
