John J. Moran

November 22, 1961 — April 18, 2013

John J. Moran II, loving husband and father, passed away on Thursday, April 18th, 2013, at the age of 51, after a lengthy illness with congestive heart failure. He was born in Indianapolis on November, 22nd 1961 to John (deceased) and Rose Moran. He grew up in Eagledale with his siblings, Jennifer (Steve Chelf), Linda (JD McGuire), David (Carrye), and Rhonda (Scott Conatser). A graduate from Cardinal Ritter High School, John enjoyed school, as well as playing baseball and football in his youth. Upon graduation, John began working for Peachtree Fabrics, where he soon became a Warehouse Manager. His exceptional work ethic continued for 30 years in similar roles at Brightpoint, Inc. and UPS Logistics. He filled his free time with family, friends, and sports. Some of his favorite times included family vacations on the beach and pool parties while he cooked on the grill and played horseshoes. In addition to his mother and siblings, John leaves behind his wife of nearly 26 years- Elaine, two children- Dana Farrell (Zach), and Pete Heaviland, and a total of five grandchildren. John took pride in being an admirable father and devoted papaw. He would do anything for his family, and his kindness and quick wit made him liked by all who crossed his path. John will be missed by many and remembered always as a great man. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:1-3
