John Farmer

John R. Farmer, 87, passed away March 6, 2015. He was born March 12, 1927 in Kirklin, IN to John R. and Anna (Clark) Farmer. Pastor and founder of Grace Community Church. John had owned and operated JR Tires. He was a member of Blessings of Love Ministries . He had served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. He served on the USS Pensacola, which carried the Atomic Bomb, but transferred to the USS Indianapolis. He also landed in Tokyo the day after the Japanese surrendered. John enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends. John is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Dennis (Tami) Farmer, Rick Farmer, John Farmer and Terry Cheusde; daughters, Karen (Ricky) Smith and Je-Von (Loren) Schubert, and Tammie Sigler; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great gandchild and a sister, June Rush. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, William Robert Farmer, Robert Greathouse and Rick Greathouse and a sister, Emma Mae Biddle. Services will be 1 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd. Visitation will be 4 until 8 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at the funeral home.
