John F Burkhardt

John F. Burkhardt, Jr. 85, of Avon, IN died Tuesday, June 19, 2012. He was born on March 22, 1927 in Lawrenceburg, IN and was raised in Madison, IN. John served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Herff Jones with 40 years of service. He was a member of Speedway Christian Church and the American Legion Post 500 of Speedway. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosemary Hussey Burkhardt; daughters, Jane Newman Ellis (Jim) of CA and Nancy LeCount (Steve) of IL; grandsons, Scott Newman, Doug and Matt LeCount. Funeral services for Mr. Burkhardt will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10am. Visitation will take place at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway on Friday evening from 4 until 7pm. Burial will take place in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
