John Robinson Duguid
61, of Brownsburg, IN died December 11, 2011. He was born in Joliet, IL. Raised in a military family, John lived in many places including the Azores Islands off the coast of Portugal, and the states of IL, IA, TX, CA, MS, IN. John earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, his Master's and PhD from the California Institute of Technology, and his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He trained in neurology at University of California San Francisco. John practiced neurology most recently at the Richard L Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He cared greatly about his patients. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John is remembered for his love of family, especially his son, Jake. He took great joy in Jake's sports and academic achievements. He was a wonderful brother who delighted in his little sisters and encouraged them in their lives. He was also an avid sportsman and golfer. John will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Jake Duguid, former wife, Mary Dinauer, his mother, Dorothy Duguid, his siblings, Robert Duguid, Carol (Mark) Hootman, Barb (Mark) Ungs, and his nieces and nephews, Daniel and Mary Hootman, and Laura and David Ungs.
Memorial gifts may be made to research on veterans' health issues.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North . A mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
