John D. "Johnny" Miner, 46, of Carmel, passed away August 18, 2014 after a long illness. Johnny was born in Indianapolis, IN the son of William R. and Anne (Fleming) Miner. Johnny graduated from Carmel High School where he was a drummer in several groups. He was a music major at Indiana University and was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He was also a member of the Marching 100 Band and a drummer for the Basketball Pep Band and the Singing Hoosiers. He was a private drum instructor for many local students and worked with the Drum Line for several Hamilton County Schools. He was also a longtime Percussion Judge for ISMA.
Johnny is survived by; his parents; his brother, Jim Miner (Karen) of Westfield, IN; his nephew and niece, Eric and Jennifer Miner; and an uncle, David L. Fleming of Beaver Creek, OH.
A Celebration of Johnny's life will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46032
