John Burney

John David Burney 97, of Noblesville, passed away on March 31, 2015. John was a 1936 graduate of Hope High School and a 1941 graduate of Indiana University. He retired after 35 years as a senior engineer and metallurgist for P.R. Mallory. He was an elder of Christ Presbyterian Church, McCordsville, IN. A 71 year member of Englewood Masonic Lodge 715 and a 70 year member of the Scottish Rite. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Betty L. (James) Burney; son, J. Douglas (Susan) Burney; grandchildren, Shannon (Nate) Christie and J.D. (fiancée Emilie) Burney; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Riley and Quinn and brother, Robert M. Burney. Services will be Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. with calling from noon in Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church.
