John David Britt

John David Britt, age 75 of Brownsburg, IN passed away on Monday morning, January 15, 2024.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center, located at 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.

The funeral service for John will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM also at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East Funeral Center.

Pastor Ellery Hunsley of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple will officiate.

A private burial will be held at Washington Park East Cemetery.

John was born on June 2, 1948 in Franklin, KY, a son of Jimmie and Kathleen (Matthews) Britt.

He married Linda Eversole on December 17, 1966 at Mount Zion General Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Linda (Eversole) Britt of Brownsburg, IN.

He is also survived by four children:  daughter Cindy (Kevin) Kuipers of Fishers, IN, daughter Dawn (Robert) Parker of Greenfield, IN, son John (Molly) Britt of Mooresville, IN, and son Joe (Margie) Britt of Mooresville, IN. 

Nine grandchildren: Michael (Katie) Parker of Florence, KY, Christopher (Jenna) Parker of Greenfield, IN, Nathan Kuipers of Fishers, IN, Hannah Britt of Indianapolis, IN, Emily Britt of Mooresville, IN, Nicholas Kuipers of Fishers, IN, Laney Britt of Mooresville, IN, Austin Britt of Mooresville, IN, and Luke Britt of Mooresville, IN. 

And one great granddaughter Felicity Parker.

He is survived by his brother, Danny (Wanda) Britt of Indianapolis, IN.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and relatives.

John is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie & Kathleen Britt, his siblings:  Carole Byler, Jimmy Britt, and Steve Britt and sister-in-law, Maureen Britt.

John grew up in Indianapolis, IN and attended Arsenal Technical High School, Class of 1966.

John worked for Altec Industries for 35 years, retiring in 2009. 

John’s greatest love was spending time at the lake camping, fishing, and hunting with his wife and children, extended family, and especially his mother and father-in-law, Fannie & Frank Eversole.  John loved the Chicago Cubs, and celebrated loudly on November 2, 2016.  He enjoyed playing cards and games with his entire family.  He coached Little League Baseball at Eastside Little League for 19 years, one of which was President of the Little League, bringing in softball to this small Little League. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 64, for the past 10 years, where he began his love of karaoke.  John was blessed with 4 children and gained 4 bonus children better known as “The Outlaws”.

John's Dad used to say: "You need a strong foundation for which to build." John Britt was the foundation for his family, just as his father.  We will continue his legacy.

Above everything, John loved and trusted our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, every day in every way.
