John A. Becker, 51, passed away on April 15, 2011. John grew up in Indianapolis and was a graduate of Lawrence North High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving President Reagan in presidential guard duty at Camp David. He was a department manager for Becker Landscape before starting his own remodeling company, John Becker Inc. Prior to moving to Zionsville, he attended E. 91st St. Christian Church, where he met his wife, Kimbra (Murphy) Becker. He was an avid outdoorsman and devoted father who served as an assistant scoutmaster for Zionsville Troop 358. He was awarded the Order of the Arrow scouting award in 2010.
John is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Kim; children Joshua and Kaelyn; parents John and Kay Becker, brothers Mike (Elizabeth,) Larry (Robin,) Kent (Angela,) and Todd (Teresa.;) his parents-in-law Wes and Joyce Murphy; sisters-in-law Julie Harrison (Jeff Watson) and Teresa Corbin (Randy,) as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was greatly loved by all who knew him.
Services will be held at Zionsville Presbyterian Church, where John was a member, on Sunday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m., with calling from 4:00 until time of service. Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund for the education of Joshua and Kaelyn Becker, in care of Old National Bank, 385 S. Main St, Zionsville, IN 46077.
