Jodie Winston 73, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord, October 26, 2012. He was born June 23, 1939 to Doyle and Gussie Winston in Bells, TN. Jodie was employed with Pepsi Cola for over 25 years. He enjoyed spending his time golfing, fishing, gardening and working in his yard. He was a great dad and loved his family. He will be remembered most for his quiet spirit and generous heart. He leaves to forever cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Anna Powell Winston; children, Teresa (Ronald) Anderson and, Bobby (April) Winston both of Tennessee, Reggie (Anita) Winston, Sheila (Howard) Edwards and Michael Cartwright all of Indiana; brothers, John (Mattie) Winston, Doyle (Patricia) Winston, Esker (Ed) Ligon, Ronnie Ligon and Surrell Ligon; sister, Joyce (James) Pirtle; six grandchildren, Derrick (LaWanda) Anderson, Shawn (Jessica) Anderson, Ronald Shane Anderson, Jason Edwards, Sade Edwards, Ashley Edwards; ten great grandchildren, Brianna Anderson, Jasmine Anderson, Myles Anderson, Tianna Anderson, Emma Anderson, McKenna Anderson, Izaac Rowe, Amity Rowe, Cameron Edwards, and Chazity Winston ; two sister-in-laws, Ann and Patricia Winston. Jodie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry and Bobby Winston and grandson, Chaz Winston. Friends may call from 10a.m.- 12 p.m. on Saturday November 3, 2012. Funeral services will be held at12:00p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis.
