Joanne M. Babinec
born Sept. 6, 1949 passed away November 4, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital Carmel, IN after a brief illness. She graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and Oliver P. Morton High School Hammond, IN. She was a former employee at ARC Bridges, Lake County, IN and for the past 22 years was employed at Janus Developmental Services, Noblesville, IN. She was a resident at St. Vincent New Hope Frederic House Fishers, IN. Joanne enjoyed her friends at the Frederic House, and also her weekend outings with her parents. Joanne was very outgoing. In her friendly, outgoing way, she soon found a friend in everyone she met.
She is survived by her devoted parents, John J. and Helen M. Babinec, Carmel; sister, Dr. Carol B. Carter; brother, John "Jack" Babinec Westfield; nephews, Alex Carter, Andrew Carter and Christopher G. Westfield ; niece, Caitlin B. Carter; former brother-in-law, Michael Carter; aunt, Ann (husband, Jim) Miskovich; many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Carmel 325 E. Carmel Dr. and Saturday from 11:00 -12:00 noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 10655 Haverstick Road. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 12:00 noon. She will be interred at Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum.
