Joann M Dowden

Joann Marie Dowden Born to Otto C. and Pauline Engle Bade on December 15, 1928 passed away on November 23, 2013. Joann is survived by her sister Doris (William, deceased), two daughters, Deborah (Chris) and Vicki (Alan), two granddaughters, Abigail (Greg) and Cara (Charlie), and two great-grandchildren Gabriel and Layla. Her cousin Robert Bohn (Lolita) and his family, nephew David, niece Diane (Bruce) and their children Adrienne and Austin also survive. Joann graduated from Howe High School and later in life John Herron Art Institute. She worked for twenty-two years as a Ticket Agent for Eastern Airlines in Indianapolis, retiring in 1987. Reconnecting with her family from Eastern gave her much joy during her final months. She was a very talented artist, working with various types of mediums, and through her art she will live on in the memories of all those fortunate to have shared in her talent. Joann was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the family will receive friends there on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 9:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am; Father Paul Koetter will officiate. Holy Spirit is located at 7243 E. 10th Street in Indianapolis. A private burial service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joann's name may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church or The American Cancer Society
