Joan M. Romjue, age 85 of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in Indianapolis. Joan was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 31, 1930 to the late Grace and Thomas Dickman. Joan was a loving Wife, Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Sister, and more. Her enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Southport Presbyterian Church and participated in many groups over the years. She had many hobbies including gardening, cooking, and traveling. After her children were married, she joined Macy's as a sales consultant at the Greenwood Park Mall and retired after 25 years of service in 2011. Her love and devotion to her family and friends will always be remembered. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Willis C. Romjue; two children, Deborah (husband, Stephen, deceased) Romjue-Bailey, of Carmel and Jerry (wife, Colleen) Romjue, of Lafayette; grandsons, Kevin Bailey and Jason Bailey, of Carmel; and cousins, James (wife, Eileen) Welch and Roger (wife, Jan) Welchof Champaign, Illinois. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Dickman, Jr. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd. Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan, 325 E. Carmel Drive and at the church on Wednesday, May 27 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road.
