Joan Garner

Joan Garner of Indianapolis passed away July 20, 2021 at the age of 85.

She was born October 9, 1935 in North Vernon, Indiana to the late Ewing P. Clark and Lois M. (nee McCreary) Duncan.

Joan worked as the manager for Circle City Pizza.  She was the matriarch of the family and leaves behind a great legacy of family.

She is survived by her children Michael E. Holt (Diane), Toni L. Gentry (Bill), Carla M. Smesler (Sherri), Timothy A. Garner (Sarah), Daniel S. Garner (Kathleen), Kimberly Simmons (Blaine), Wilma Kono, Glenn Billeter, Terri, Gary, and Chris Garner; grandchildren Rusty, Kelly, Lori, Bobby, Brad, Suzanne, Jennifer, Tiffany, Jason, Amber, Josh, Kristina, Brian and Stephanie; great-grandchildren Christopher, Ella, Carter, Weston, Andrew, Katelyn, Mariah, McKayla, Abi, Jessica, Talan, Parker, Mitizi Sue, Dominic, Billy, Keaton, Javanni, Nevaeh, Joshua, Jada, Owen, Bryson, Thalia, Lyric, Mon’trece, Jeremiah, Serenity, Ericka, Austin, Hayden, Gavin, Trenton, Kolten, Zachary, Amaya, Caiden, and Kalie; great-great grandchildren Gavin, Ayona, Matthew, Jordan, Elizabeth, Nova, and Layonni.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Bill Garner and Jack Holt; siblings Mary, Letha, and Jack; and her parents.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 23 from 10 AM to 1 PM in Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  Funeral Services will begin at 1 PM.
