Joan Heisner Campagna Of Indianapolis passed on from this earth on December 9th. Joan was a bright light for her family and friends. Her eyes bubbled with delight and love. Her enthusiasm for life seemed to have no bounds. She had a wonderful smile and a laugh. She was a unique person, who spread kindness and joy where ever she went. Joan loved the theatre both attending and acting. Her cup was always half full, never half empty. She was deeply loved by her family. We fondly remember the parties she threw for her family and friends. She was a champion and provided a voice for those who needed a voice. Her compassion for others never waivered through out her life. Joan had a fierce determination to maintain her dignity and independence up to her last hours through out her long illness. Joan was not just another person she was a part us. We all feel an immense loss at her passing, but her sweetness, and love will be cherished and remembered through all the generations of her family.
Joan is survived by her husband Louie, daughters Lindsay (Tim) Golden and Ashley Campagna, grandchildren Braden Alban, Justina Golden, Leicie Golden and Liam Mervar. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nyssa, and her parents Wilbur and Pearl Heisner. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Wolcott , Gloria (Rich) Koretke , Donna (David) Minich, Gayle (Lee) Erickson and her brother Ron (Lori) Heisner. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joan grew up in Manhattan, Illinois. She was member of 4-H, and attended Anna McDonald Grade School and Lincoln-Way High School. She attended Joliet Junior College and graduated from Northern Illinois University.
Joan was employed by the City of Indianapolis, and long time employee of US Air in Reservations. We took many travels among them trips to England, Italy and Israel.
Services will be held at Flanner and Buchanan, Washington Park North Funeral Center, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46228. Saturday January 11, 2014. Calling 1PM to 2PM. Service at 2PM.
