Jim Lauten

July 17, 1967 — February 9, 2013

Jim E. (James Edmund) Lauten 45, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on February 9, 2013. Jim was born the beloved son of Marlene (Righter) Hatch of Carmel, IN and Edmund Lauten of Edwardsberg, MI. Jim was a graduate of North Central High School, Ivy Tech, and The Ohio Institute of Photography. He was a talented professional photographer with King Shots Studios and worked part time for Cord Camera. Jim was a passionate volunteer, giving of his time and resources as past Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 2138, where he organized many fundraisers for the children of Mooseheart and the local community. He also volunteered his photographic skills to AYS (At Your School), a unique greater Indianapolis not for profit before and after school program that fosters creative arts expression. First and foremost, Jim was a loving, thoughtful, kind, joyful son, brother, nephew and friend. His great sense of humor and compassion for all living things will be missed into eternity. Jim is survived by his mother, Marlene Hatch, step-father, Phil Hatch, father, Edmund Lauten, step-mother, Patty Kanney Lauten, sister, Ginger Morgan, her fiancé, Greg Jackson, step-sister, Kristin Hatch, step-brothers, Daniel and Nathan Lauten, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his much loved cats, Cassie Girl and Eclipse. A celebration of Jim's life with family and friends will be scheduled at a later time.
