Jesse F. Godwin

Jesse F. Godwin, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 16, 2026. Jesse was born on February 11, 1947, to Lester and Frankie Godwin.

Jesse met Carol, the love of his life, in high school. He provided for his family working as a machinist for Navistar for 44 years. Jesse loved spending time outdoors, whether casting a fishing line, tending to his garden, or caring for his yard. A man of faith, Jesse’s trust in God guided him throughout his life and shaped the way he cared for others. Above all else, he treasured his family. His love, steady presence, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Frankie Godwin; and siblings Steve and David Godwin. Jesse is survived by his loving wife Carol; children Jeffrey (Vickie Park) Godwin, Cindy (Terry) Fishburn; and granddaughter Elizabeth (Justin) Mclary.

Visitation for Jesse will take place from 11:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. Funeral services for Jesse will follow at 1:00pm, concluding with burial at Washington Park East cemetery.
