Jerry Lee Weddle, Sr., a dedicated heavy equipment operator for 54 years and a man known for his hard work, integrity, and devotion to his family, passed away on June 6, 2026, in Avon, Indiana. Born on January 6, 1943, in Indianapolis, Jerry lived a life marked by commitment and love, both in his professional career and within his family circle.
Jerry was widely respected not only for his impressive tenure in the heavy equipment industry but also for the warmth and steadfast support he provided as a husband, father, and grandfather. His character was profoundly shaped by his values of diligence and kindness, which left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Rosemary Weddle, who stood beside him throughout his journey. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Jerry was a proud father to Jerry Weddle Jr. and Timothy Weddle, and a loving father-in-law to Shannon Weddle and Maria Weddle, who enriched the family with their presence. His loving daughter Heather Weddle whom also survives him, as do his cherished grandchildren: Janice Johnson, Kris Boyden, Jerry Weddle III, Brandon Weddle, Ty Brown, Angelina Weddle, and Dakota Weddle, each carrying his legacy forward. The joy he found in family extended to his great-grandchildren Bryce Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Kaison Boyden, Kendrix Boyden, and Kashton Boyden, who brought light into his later years.
Jerry’s life was also deeply intertwined with his brothers Virgil Weddle Jr., David Weddle Sr., Phillip Weddle, and Stoney Weddle, who remain part of his enduring companionship and shared memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Weddle Sr. and Mary Weddle, whose love and guidance shaped his early years. Jerry also mourns sisters Sandra Soots and Diane Bastin, as well as brothers Samuel Weddle and Larry Weddle, whose memories he cherished.
Jerry Lee Weddle, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and unwavering goodness. He will be remembered with respect and admiration, and his influence will endure in the hearts of those who loved him. His life stands as a testament to the strength of kindness and the enduring bonds of family.
