Jerry McCamey

June 29, 1932 — February 13, 2026

Jerry Prade "JP" McCamey, age 93, of Columbus, Kansas passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at Autumn Place in Columbus.

JP was born to Clarence Ivy and Frances Louise (Keeling) McCamey on June 29, 1932, in Waco, Texas. After high school, JP went on to attend college at Baylor University. JP was united in marriage to Elsie Kirkland on June 13, 1952, and to that union was born one daughter, Deborah McCamey Edgeworth, and two sons, Jerry and Alan McCamey. Elsie passed away in 2002. JP lived his life serving the Lord, spreading the Gospel, and teaching others about Jesus' love for us. His ministry began when he was ordained by the Assemblies of God Church in 1951, and continued for almost 75 years. In McGregor, TX, JP preached the Word from his front room at home, going on to serve in San Antonio, TX; Stigler, OK; Fairview, OK; Galena, KS; Great Bend, KS; and then in 1990, for another 28 years, JP traveled as an evangelist. In 2004, JP and Merrily Collins married; she preceded him in death in 2022.

In addition to his parents, Clarence and Frances, JP was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence McCamey, and one sister, Kathy Vincent.

Survivors include one daughter, Deborah McCamey Edgeworth of Bloomington, IN; two sons: Jerry McCamey (wife, Darlene) of New Palestine, IN; and Alan McCamey (wife, Cheri) of Columbus, KS; one sister, Patsy Fuller of Dallas, TX; 11 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
