Jerry Lee Horsley

Jerry Lee Horsley, of Greenfield, IN, passed away on October 24, 2022, at the age of 84. Jerry was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 26, 1938, to parents Robert Leo and Nora Myrtle (Graves) Horsley. He attended Manual High School, where he played one year on the football team, before leaving school to join the workforce. Jerry served in the US Army Reserves, as a cook. He started his own company at a young age, specializing in brick and block masonry work. He owned and operated Jerry Horsley Construction Company, Inc. in Indianapolis for 65 years.
Jerry was a hard-working, dedicated family man. He enjoyed endless remodeling jobs, spending time with family and friends and especially his dogs. Jerry also loved classic cars, owning as many as 21 classic cars at one time. Time spent showing cars at different events nationally and the friendships he made as a result, brought him great joy. He recently won Best of Show at the Cider Run Classic Car Reunion in 2021, resulting in the esteemed honor of his car featured on the 2022 official reunion shirts.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Myrtle; sister Carole; and brother Bobby.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Sue “Barbara” (Law) Horsley, whom he married on August 29, 1964. He is also survived by his sister, Janet, children: Brenda (Kevin) Burk, Tammy (Jim) Robinson, and Mark (Nadia) Horsley; 8 grandchildren: Mitchel (Melissa), Spencer (Anna), Carter, Jack, Madison (Dustin), Mason, Aamir, and Saleem; 5 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; as well as many other loving extended family members and beloved friends.
Friends of Jerry’s with classic cars are asked to drive their cars to the visitation where there will be special parking available. Following the funeral service on Monday there will a classic car procession for any car owners who are able to participate.
Visitation will be held from 12 Noon – 6pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022, and additionally from 10-11am on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis. Funeral services will follow Monday’s visitation, beginning at 11am, with his grandson, Mitchel Burk, officiating. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
