Jerry Ray Ingle, 86, of Fairland, passed away peacefully May 29th, 2026 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Birdseye, Indiana on January 3rd, 1940 to parents Lloyd and Geneva Ingle.
Jerry grew up in Indiana and graduated with an Aviation Maintenance Diploma from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. He continued his education at Indiana Central (now UIndy) achieving multiple management certifications.
Jerry worked at National House movers prior to working at Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, where he served as a production and maintenance supervisor. He retired from Ford in 1995.
On February 6, 1960, Jerry married the love of his life, Joyce Phipps. They shared 66 wonderful years together. Spending time with Joyce was one of his many hobbies.
Jerry was a hard-working, loving man. He was proud of his wife, sons and his grandchildren. Wherever there was a practical joke to be handed out, that’s where he could be found. His fishing equipment was always ready to be put in use. He was also a talented builder, taking pride in the multiple homesteads he established in his lifetime.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; his sons Bruce (Linda) Ingle and Jeff (Cindy) Ingle; his grandchildren Jessica (Ben) Greenhut, Carly (Sam) Sanders, Max (Delaney) Ingle and Jordan (Kyle) Lundberg; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Ray, Jr., his dad Lloyd, and his mother Geneva.
Visitation for Jerry will be Friday June 5th, from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Additional visitation will be Saturday June 6th, from 10-12pm. His funeral will begin at 12pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
