Jerry Lee Hendricks, age 67 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Per Jerry’s wishes, Cremation Rites will be accorded.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park Funeral Center, located at 424 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.

Jerry was born on February 8, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Jerry Lee Hendricks Sr. and Linda Lou (Raney) Hendricks. He is preceded in death by his mother: Linda Lou Hendricks on March 14, 2011. He is survived by his father: Jerry Lee (wife Beverly) Hendricks of Greenwood, Indiana. One sister: Trena Rosales of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was married to: Katie Hendricks, the mother of his children. Katie survives in Washington State.

Jerry is also survived by his three children: Melinda (husband Jay) Sullivan of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jerry Lee (wife Desiree) Hendricks III of Indianapolis and Corey (wife Jaddean) Hendricks of Washington State.

Grandchildren: Jacobe Morgan, Brianna Allanson, Blake Hendricks, Olivia Sullivan, and Kristina Hendricks all of Indianapolis.

Jerry grew up in Indianapolis on the west side. He was a lifelong resident of the west side of Indianapolis. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1974. After high school, he went right to work at Allison Transmission. He worked his entire career at Allison Transmission. After 43 years, he was finally convinced it was okay to retire in 2021.

He always enjoyed fishing and family vacations, whether it was in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, relaxing around nature, or Daytona Beach, Florida soaking up the sun and listening to the live bands.

Over the years Jerry enjoyed many things including playing guitar and bass. He loved music and was a total music man. He loved anything and everything to do with music and enjoyed listening to all genres. He loved to attend any kind of live music.

Jerry was known for his genuine personality, goofy smile and his love of life. He truly didn’t know a stranger and enjoyed a good conversation with anyone. He was known to sit in his chair on Sunday mornings drinking his coffee and working on the Indy Star crossword puzzle, in pen.

He deeply loved his family. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
