Jerry Lee Curbeaux, age 78 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at his residence.
Jerry was born on November 29, 1946 in Indianapolis, the son of Charles Vernon and Martha Clara (Mote) Curbeaux. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jerry is survived by his younger sister: Cindi (husband Jim) Reed of Brownsburg.
He was married to Sheryl Ann Curbeaux. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2018.
Jerry is survived by one son: Michael Curbeaux of Whiteland.
He is preceded in death by one daughter: Dinita Curbeaux who preceded him in death in December of 2024.
Generic dad to stepdaughter: Melody (husband Dana) Catt of Indianapolis and stepson: Kent Crockett of Indianapolis.
He is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members and relatives.
His two very special dogs: Roscoe and Gracie.
Jerry grew up in Indianapolis on the Westside. He attended high school at George Washington High School, graduating in the class of 1965.
After high school he worked at Allison Gas Turben for a short time before enlisting in the Army from 1966-1968.
Upon discharge from the Army, he went back to work at Allison. Jerry worked there for his entire professional career until retirement in 1996. After retirement he also worked at Charlie Brown’s Pancake and Steakhouse at Speedway on a part time basis.
Throughout Jerry’s life he greatly enjoyed playing pool, bowling, loved to gamble, and play cards. He was a dog lover and had many cherished dogs over the years, two of them survived to this day, mentioned above: Roscoe and Gracie. He greatly enjoyed going country line dancing with Sheryl.
Jerry will be remembered as a special father, grandfather, brother, friend and special generic Dad to Melody and Kent. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him, and we come together on Thursday, September 18, 2025 to celebrate Jerry’s life.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
A funeral service will follow at 3:30 PM, beginning with Army Military Honors, followed by a service led by Jerry’s grandson in law: Bobby Orr.
Cremation Rites will be accorded following the services.
Jerry and Sheryl will be placed to rest together at Crown Hill National Cemetery Cremation Columbarium Annex at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The Humane Society, The American Heart Association, The Alzheimer's Assocation or to any Veteran/Military Organization.
