Jeri Mae Mains (Groce)

Jeri Mae Mains, age 44, of Indianapolis, died tragically Sunday December 28, 2025, far too soon. She was a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, graduating High School at Emmerich Manual High School, and obtaining her bachelor's degree at IUPUI.

Jeri was the most devoted mother. She loved her children so much that in everything that she did, she put her children’s consideration first. She had the most infectious smile. The first thing anyone mentions is how her beautiful smile lit up the room. Jeri didn’t know a stranger; she would smile and start a conversation with anyone around her. Jeri loved her family and friends fiercely. She was the person you would want in your corner, as she would do everything for those she cared about. If she didn’t know you, and you needed help of any kind, she would be the first to offer to find a way to help. Outside of spending time with family and friends, Jeri enjoyed her job, various side jobs, shopping and finding a great deal, going to amusement parks, and spending time at the movie theaters with her children.

Jeri is preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard Floyd Kirlin, Geraldine Ruth Kirlin, and Willie Mae Groce. 

Jeri is survived by her children, Andrew, Bryce, Mikayla, and Mariah Mains; her parents, Steve and Lori (Kirlin) Groce; her brothers Steven “Jr” and Matt (Lacey) Groce; her nieces and nephews, Bryce, Brayden, Mayson, Alaina, Gavin, Niko (Groce); Grandfather, Norman Joe Groce, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held in Jeri's honor 5-8pm January 9th, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan- Community Life Center. An additional visitation will be 11am-1pm January 10th, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan-Community Life Center with a service to follow at 1 pm. Jeri will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 2pm in Washington Park East Cemetery.
